How to get your cat used to the Ease

Most cats need some time to get used to something new. One cat might do it in a day, while another may need a week or longer. By taking a few small steps, you can make it easy for your cat.

Many owners wonder beforehand whether their cat in particular will get used to it. In practice, this is the case with the vast majority of cats. Sometimes right away, sometimes after a little more time.

Get used to the Ease in three steps

Take your time. Every cat has its own pace.

  1. A cat discovers the Ease

    Get acquainted

    Let your cat discover the Ease at their own pace

    • Place the Ease next to the box your cat currently uses, on a flat and sturdy surface.
    • Fill the Ease with clumping litter up to the indicated line and sprinkle some used litter in it. This way, your cat will recognize the scent.
    • Let your cat sniff around it on its own. A treat or some catnip placed next to it can help.
    • No rush. This may take a few days.
  2. A cat uses the Ease for the first time

    • Use the manual mode for the first few days. The Ease will then only clean when you start it via the app.
    • Reward your cat when he looks at the Ease, sniffs it, or steps into it.
    • Start the cleaning when your cat is out of the area. This way, he can get used to the sound and movement in peace.
    • You can see every visit in the app. This way, you will know if your cat is already using the Ease.
  3. A cat feels completely at home at Ease

    Switch completely

    Your cat chooses the Ease

    • Clean the old litter box less and less often.
    • Does your cat mainly use the Ease? Then remove the old box.
    • Is your cat still unsure? Feel free to put the old box back for a few days and try again afterwards.
    • Does your cat use the Ease without hesitation? Then set it to automatic yourself in the app.
    • From that moment on, the Ease will automatically clean after use and stop as soon as your cat steps in again.

Switching from manual to automatic yourself

For the first few days, use the manual setting. The Ease does not switch automatically. Once your cat is used to it, you can manually set it to automatic in the app settings.

My cat is afraid of the litter box. What now?

Give your cat peace of mind and time. The Ease has no cover, so it feels more like a regular litter box. Use the manual mode for the first few days and start the cleaning cycle when your cat is away. This will help your cat gradually get used to the sound and movement.

Does your cat use the Ease without hesitation? Then set it to automatic in the app. From that point on, it will automatically clean after each use and stop as soon as your cat steps back inside.

Reward every step and never force anything.

Should I leave the old container?

Yes, at first. Place the Ease next to it and leave the old litter box until your cat starts using the Ease. Then, clean the old box less and less frequently and remove it when your cat no longer goes in it.

When do I set the Ease to automatic?

As soon as your cat uses the Ease without hesitation. The Ease does not switch from manual to automatic by itself. You do that yourself in the app settings. Not sure? Then stick with manual for a while longer.

My cat is still hesitating. What can I do?

Put some used litter in the Ease so your cat recognizes the scent, and reward every visit. Never force your cat. If necessary, put the old litter box back for a few days and try again gently afterwards. Not making any progress? Send us a message via WhatsApp, and we’ll help you figure it out.

My cat is very picky. Will he be able to manage this too?

That is a very normal concern. Cats can be quite stubborn when something changes. Nevertheless, most cats eventually accept the Ease as their new litter box. Their natural need remains the same, only the location is new. Therefore, above all, give your cat time to discover the Ease at their own pace.

How long does it take for my cat to get used to it?

That varies from cat to cat. One cat may have enough in a day, while another may need a week or longer. That’s why you have 30 days to try the Ease at home.

What if it doesn't work after all?

You can return the Ease within 30 days. Register your return online. The product must be clean and complete, preferably in its original packaging. Return shipping costs are at your own expense.
